The history of OPEM S.P.A. is rooted in the territory of Parma to better extend to national and international markets. This is the story of a small family business, founded in 1974 by Fabio Binacchi, whose beginnings are marked by the acquisition of an establishment that operates in the pasta sector, operation which, from there, throws the basics of the company OPEM of the future.

At the very beginning, the company employs ten people and the coffee market is still far away, but gradually it is embarking on the path of patents for large food industries, whose constant demands for new weighing and packaging systems are leading the way. company to study and propose new facilities that can also be used in other sectors.

Mr. Binacchi began subcontracting activities and, thanks to the experiments carried out, explored the field of packaging, not only pasta and biscuits, never completely abandoned, but also coffee. Efforts are systematically made towards constant search for innovative solutions to improve the performance and quality of the installations. An entrepreneurial philosophy that has raised OPEM to levels of technological excellence able to respond to the production developments required by the market, while maintaining at the same time a craftsmanship of the products.

In the 80s, OPEM already works for large clients such as Barilla and Kimbo, and over time, large groups and large foreign companies call on OPEM. The arrival of pods and capsules, in a fast-growing market, allowed the company to grow and expand thanks to the foresight it has shown and to the production of very flexible able to adapt to and meet the needs of its different customers.

In 1984, the company moved to the industrial area of ??Parma, where it still operates today and employs 105 people. In September 2014 and after more than three years of construction work, the new Opem Spa site was inaugurated.
